Get ready for one of the most fun days of the year! The Charlotte Corgi Club Racing Championship returns to Renaissance Park on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Charlotte Corgi Club Racing Championship is a high-energy community event featuring one of the most unique and entertaining spectacles in the region — competitive Corgi racing. Corgi races are fun, recreational events where short-legged Corgis compete in short-distance races, often accompanied by costume parades, scent challenges, and other playful contests.
What began as a small event has grown into the largest Corgi race on the East Coast, drawing participants and spectators from across multiple states. This year’s race will feature more than 150 Corgis from eight states.
This event combines entertainment, competition, and community impact.
Corgi races begin at 10:30 a.m., but there will be plenty happening throughout the day for racers and spectators alike!
This year’s event highlights include:
- Corgi racing throughout the day
- Corgi costume contest
- Local vendors
- Food trucks
- Music and entertainment
- Shelter and adoptable dogs
- Plenty of adorable corgis!
You do not need to have a corgi—or even a dog—to join the fun. The event is free to everyone to come out, spectate, grab some food, visit our vendors, and enjoy a day full of dogs and entertainment.
